Despite the rain, I was there with other Ticats fans,  gathered at Ivor Wynne Stadium to watch the last game played at our beloved sporting venue.

Quarterback Henry Burris threw two touchdowns in a 28-18 victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Saturday in the last game played at Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton. The home of the Tiger-Cats since 1950 will be demolished in December to make way for facilities for the 2015 Pan American Games. With the win, Hamilton (6-11) retains slim hopes of making the playoffs. The Bombers (5-12) are in turn eliminated.

I don’t have many memories of this stadium personally but I grew up a few blocks from it and I know how much it has meant to this community over the years.

Here’s a video by Hamilton’s very own Stephen Brunt doing a feature on Ivor Wynne for TSN.
